About Us

GWA Calculator Philippines was built for one simple reason: computing a General Weighted Average by hand, especially with mixed unit loads and different grading scales, is confusing and easy to get wrong. We wanted a free, fast, and accurate tool that any Filipino student could open on their phone between classes and get a real answer.

About us, in one line: GWA Calculator Philippines is an independent resource built for Filipino students who need to compute, convert, and understand their academic averages without wading through conflicting advice. Everything here is free, requires no account, and works on a phone.

About GWA Calculator Philippines - free student grade tools

About us: what we do

We build and maintain a set of free online calculators for Philippine students, covering General Weighted Average, cumulative GWA across semesters, GPA-to-GWA and GWA-to-GPA conversion, and GWA-to-percentage equivalence. Alongside the tools, we write plain-language guides explaining how different Philippine colleges and universities structure their grading systems, what counts as a good GWA, and how GWA relates to scholarships, latin honors, and academic standing.

How we keep the calculators accurate

Every formula behind our calculators is based on the standard unit-weighted average method used across most Philippine higher-education institutions, and we cross-check our grading-system explanations against publicly available school handbooks and CHED references. Where grading scales differ between schools, we say so explicitly rather than presenting a single number as universal, because we would rather be useful than misleading.

Why it’s free

Every calculator and guide on this site is free to use, with no sign-up required. The site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense, which allows us to keep the tools free and continue adding new calculators and guides for more Philippine schools and grading systems.

About us: our promise to students

We do not store the grades you enter, we do not require an account, and we do not pretend to replace your school’s official records. GWA Calculator Philippines exists to make one specific, recurring task, checking where you stand academically, quick and painless. If you have feedback, spot an error, or want us to add support for your school’s grading system, we would genuinely like to hear from you through our Contact Us page.

The site began as a single weighted-average calculator and grew as students asked for more: GPA and percentage conversions, cumulative tracking across terms, and plain-language explanations of the rules that decide honors and scholarship eligibility. Each tool was added because someone needed it, not to fill out a menu.

We are not affiliated with any university, with the Commission on Higher Education, or with any government agency. That independence is deliberate: it lets us explain how the common Philippine practices work while being clear that your own registrar sets the rules that actually govern your record.

Accuracy matters more to us than breadth. Every calculator is checked against worked examples before it is published, and every figure quoted from a government schedule is verified against the issuing agency rather than copied from another site. When a rule varies by institution, we say so instead of inventing a national standard that does not exist.

If you spot an error or a policy that has changed, tell us. Corrections from students and registrars are the fastest way this resource improves, and they are always welcome.
